Life creates struggles for us all. Not only is life full of challenges, but in general, we are also living in a time of mass shootings and gun violence toward children, polarized politics, and politics infiltrating social beliefs, religious beliefs, education, etc. AND we have been living through a global pandemic.
When we struggle with anxiety, sadness, and existential crisis in such times, this is not a sign of pathology, of something that is wrong with us. We are not responding abnormally. Rather, we are responding in a way normal and human way to unhealthy, unwelcome, and pathological times.
In LifeCoaching, we will look at how you are responding to the struggles of the world and examine how they are serving you and how they are not serving you, making a plan for change so that you can step into the person you want to be.
LifeCoaching is not therapy. In coaching, we do not diagnose mental health issues nor does aim at treating and/or resolving a specific mental health diagnosis. Sometimes, individuals in engaged in coaching need to have a therapist that they work with related to mental health diagnoses or need to be referred to a therapist if their responses to life's stressors become debilitating and interfere with daily functioning. If therapy is needed and you do not already have one, we will refer you to a therapist.
Theresa specializes in working with young and mature women facing transitions, struggling with learning difficulties and/or executive functioning difficulties, and college students.
